Getting started...
Months in planning and anticipation, we are set to leave on September 5. Our destinations are Alexandria, VA for Rae to visit her daughter Brooke Payne and family; and Hampton, VA for me to visit Nancy and Mike Finney (my sister). Rae has been getting the "Gypsy", our home on the road, ready for the journey. As navigator, my job is the trip planning: Still a few details to work out, an itinerary to publish for our loved ones, lists to make and check off...but this is part of the adventure to be embraced, right? Only I woke up at 3:32, couldn't get back to sleep, mental list-making again. Whatever! Ellen

I think this will be a learning experience for us all. My sister and I want to do this exact thing when Mike retires...only we are going from East to West, and will lease a mini-Winnie. The blog is a great idea.

Sounds like so much fun. I wish the five of us could come too! Maybe someday we'll just have to make a trip across the country in an RV. . . maybe a diesel that runs on veggie oil!
